Giddyup on outta here, Roy Moore! You and that Sassy horse of yours have no place in the United States Senate.
If you don’t already know (and really, how could you not), Democrat Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate special election last night by over 20,000 votes. But now, nearly 24 hours after the final vote was tallied, Roy Moore has still not conceded. In his speech to his supporters last night he said, “When the vote is this close, it is not over.” Moore added he would “wait on God and let this process play out.”
Moore, a “devout Christian,” has been accused of sexual misconduct and assault with teenage girls, allegations that crept up on him in November, when the first of nine women, came forward to speak her truth.
Jones’ victory is due in part to the larger urban areas, but the state’s black belt region came out in droves in support of the Democratic candidate. Even though many of them were turned away at the polls, they were still triumphant when the election was called.
So… concede, Moore. It’s over. You lost. Aint karma a bitch? Time to ride your horse into the sunset.
