Austin friends — ArtProfiler is happy to be a part of this amazing event! Three of Nicole Jeffords‘ political portraits (as well as our memes that go with them) were chosen as part of the art auction benefiting the Austin Justice Coalition. You can stop by to view all the work selected by a slew of talented artists, and there is so much more!
Cramming for the Midterms is a free, family-friendly day of voter information and art-making. You will find free voting resources, learn tips on how to make your voice heard and create your own art at the event’s postcard party and art mural sponsored by local artist Avery Orendorf and JOLT. You can also sign up here for Voter Registrar Training with League of Women Voters or learn about how you can volunteer with Project Orange, an initiative that helps advise incarcerated individuals of their voting rights.
Most of the activities will be held *indoors* at the shops lining the park. Thanks to Big Swig & other donors there will be drinks and snacks to keep everyone hydrated and stave off the “hangries.”
Austin artist and designer Avery Orendorf is leading the postcard writing session from 11am – 2pm. Here, you can design your own postcard and send it to a friend to encourage them to vote in the midterms. Or send it to your representatives so they’ll know why you’re voting in November! Blank postcards, colored markers, pencils, and some stamps will be provided. Please donate to the cause by bringing your own stamps and any other additional art supplies you want. Get creative! This session will be held at Austin Yawp.
Parking is free on the surrounding streets and in the small lot north of Robert Browning.
General information including location can be found on the event page here.
Hope to see you on August 25! Please spread the word!
