Who (And Where) is C.D. Knowles? | Knowles Knows, COVID-19 Edition (Ep 1)
Knowles is missing and we need your help!
There’s been a change to our website, and it’s a little frightening. We haven’t heard from our advice columnist, C.D. Knowles, since February 11th.
We’ve been publishing the column “Knowles Knows” for over two years, but have never met Knowles, whom we’ve always assumed is male. He first reached out to us in early October of 2017 expressing interest in being a contributor on the site, practically begging us to start an advice column. We thought, “why not?”
He has always sent the column to us via email on Tuesdays in time for publication on Fridays, and has never been late, which is why his lack of communication feels off. (We’ve been trying to get in touch with him for over six weeks, and in the interim have just been republishing old posts.)
The problem is we’ve never known who he is–he writes under a pseudonym–and since we’ve never met in person or even talked on the phone, it makes it really difficult to find him. Could he have gotten sick? Our last communication was right around the time that the coronavirus was incubating and beginning to spread in the US, so it’s possible. Or could something else have happened?
We’ve decided to make this information public in the hopes that someone out there knows who C.D. Knowles is and can help us find him (or her). Can’t you have someone trace his IP address from the emails? Seems like a good idea.

We thought of that, but neither of us are very computer saavy when it comes to that sort of work. We got a tip in, though, that seems like it could be promising. We will keep everyone posted!
